Can you tell Wattie his tomatoes are tasteless, he told me they got first prize I think the only prize he would have got would have been the booby prize!
Are you in the station on Friday for the fitba if so I will bring in a couple of my tomatoes for you to try, I think mine are deeeeeelicious!

Dear Former Vice Captain Holland,
I feel you are being rather harsh on the elderly codger. Former Captain Campbell tries his best despite his failing eyesight and other ailments which he keeps going on about incessantly. I'm not sure what he actually feeds to his tomatoes but I wouldn't recommend eating them - Agnes says he's always in the greenhoose and never needs to use the the toilet in the house during the day! Thanks very much for your very kind offer of a sample of your wares but unfortunately I have a very important engagement on Friday evening - The Caddies night out to the Ferry. Please feel free however to bring in a sample on Saturday, although I did taste a couple of the tomatoes you gave to Bullitheid last week (I know its hard to believe but he did offer) and I found the skins to be slightly leathery - although very tasty. Congratulations on your recent Flower Show success - I know you would prefer to keep this news confidential but I feel you deserve the recognition.

p.s. A fellow caddie (who shall remain nameless) let slip that your lovely wife Yvonne was in fact responsible for your success. Yes, Alfie told me that she tends to all your plants and vegetables when you are away. I find this this hard to believe though!
