President and Vice Captain meet Peter Alliss
Club President Evelyn and Vice Captain Elliot attended the official opening of the re-furbished Simpsons Golf Shop during the Senior Open week. The duo mingled with the invited guests and had time to chat with our honourary member Peter, before he was whisked away to work for his employers that week, ESPN. Peter passed on his regards to all his 'fellow members' and hopes to be able to drop in to the Club at a future date.

Match Secretary meets Bernhard Langer
What a busy month we had in July. Not only did we meet with Peter, Senior Open winner Bernhard Langer dropped into the Station on the Saturday evening for dinner and was so impressed that he booked again for dinner after the final round of the tournament on Sunday. Word has it that his grilled haddock was cooked to perfection! Andy caught up with Bernhard as he was leaving and the Champion graciously signed a couple of shirts before heading off to Seattle to win the US Open Senior tournament ... must be something to do with Ivor's cooking!
