Can anyone identify the celebrity on the 1st tee?

Take a look at the photos and see if you can spot the important person on the 1st tee of the Championship. Yes of course you're right - its Vice Captain Simpson working extremely hard as usual. Not sure who the other guy is though, apart from Peem and Alfie. Somebody mentioned it could be Andy - but if its Andy Gilbride, he's lost a lot of weight and grown half a futt recently. Anyway - at the risk of being sent to the Tower - only joking SIR, lovely swing!

(Thanks to Station Masters member Richard Christieson for the mug shots - all the way from Thailand!)

Golfing legend is presented with Honourary Membership Card

The Station Masters Golf Club first ever honourary member, Mr Peter Alliss, took time out of his hectic Open schedule to graciously accept his Honourary Membership Card. Peter met with representatives of the Committee minutes after the final putt had been sunk in the Championship play-off and chatted and signed autographs before being whisked off to another engagement at Muirfield later in the evening. Peter had hoped to meet with our members earlier in the

week, but TV production schedules and other commitments made this impossible. Despite what you may have read in the local and national press, no other arrangements were made with Peter and he did not 'stand us up' as some so-called reporters would like to think. In the event, Peter made mention of our Club and the Station Hotel in his commentary and throughout his time on-air, frequently heaped praise on the course, the Town and the surrounding area, which is bound to have a marked effect on tourism in Angus. Peter has said he looks forward to visiting in the future when he will have more time to meet with our members. We look forward to welcoming him.

August Monthly Medal to be held on Saturday 18th

The Buddon Course is back to its normal layout and is gradually getting back to some semblance of normality! Therefore our Monthly Medal will take place as usual on the 3rd Saturday of the month - that's this Saturday the 18th. Get your clubs out of the shed and get back on the course. Handicaps will be adjusted from this Saturday onwards - so we want no excuses or moaning (not that there ever is!).
