Members and guests enjoy day out at the legendary Dens Park
Taking a well-deserved break from golf recently, several Station
Masters members along with their guests, enjoyed an action-packed day
out at
Dens Park for the match, against arch-rivals Raith Rovers. As we all know, the
Glorious Dundee struck in the dying minutes of the match through the
ever-youthful Neil McCann, providing a fairytale finish to a pulsating game,
running out magnificent victors 2 - 1. The match was sponsored by former
Vice Captain, Captain Holland's company, Marex Marine and Safety Services, a
globally renowned outfit (something to do with boats we think) operating from
Aberdeen to as far afield as Scrabster. Neil and his chums enjoyed excellent
boardroom hospitality, with a menu consisting of delicious beef olives washed down with
copious quantities of Champagne and other fine wines - all at a ridiculously low
cost. The group actually had the honour of selecting the man-of-the-ma
tch
which in this instance went to Dundee defender Craig McKeown. The day was
rounded off for one lucky chum (who shall remain nameless) when he won a framed
photo of a Dundee shirted George Best valued at £130 in the match raffle.
Rumours presently circulating the Club suggest that Elliot, thinking that more
Champagne was on the go, in fact stuck his hand up during an auction which was
taking place for the photo and ended up making the highest bid! These rumours
however are believed to be the work of disaffected 'arab' troublemakers and
should be treated with the contempt they deserve. All-in-all a great day out for
the chums and a triumph for all supporters of silky soccer.

Links landmarks take shape
Two new landmarks are gradually taking shape over Carnoustie Golf links. The futuristic-designed Pro-centre is well on the way to completion in time for the Ricoh Women's British Open 2011 (to give it its correct title) in July. Further out on the course, the new 'tea-hut' is also well under construction at the 10th hole - its about time the caddies were provided with up-dated facilities!
